What an adoption sprint delivers
The outcome depends on your requirements. Past sprints have delivered custom tools, automations and workflows, refactors of existing systems, established and optimised business processes, and organisational consensus around new policies. Common themes:
- Cloud adoption and migration — moving workloads deliberately, in an order tied to business priorities rather than vendor roadmaps.
- AI adoption — putting AI into real workflows (with the data plumbing to support it), not proof-of-concept purgatory.
- Compliance automation — building the evidence-collection and governance foundations for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 so audits become routine instead of fire drills.
Every sprint runs with regular status updates and finishes within the agreed timeline.
How we execute: the five stages
- 1
CONTRACTING
From rough problem statement to start-of-workYou reach us with a rough problem statement and one representative's view of the current issues. We set up a meeting with your stakeholders to pin down the objectives of the engagement. If all goes well, we review the MSA, create the Statement of Work, and invoice a deposit — and we begin within three days of invoice payment and NDA signing.
- 2
DISCOVERY
System map with prioritised findings (1–3 weeks)We come in with your stated business objective in mind. We look at your documentation, code, and cloud infrastructure and compare them with your intuitions, and we interview you — or the roles in your in-house team — to understand context. We synthesise all of it into a system map with prioritised, actionable findings. If you've already run a Readiness Sprint, this stage is already done.
- 3
INTERVENTION
The work gets done — by us or by people you chooseWe define success criteria and metrics together and confirm we're working on the right thing. If needed and agreed upon, we introduce relevant people for the execution sprint — you can contract them individually or through us, it makes no difference to us. The work is delivered within the agreed timeframe.
- 4
EVALUATION
Did the work enable the outcome? We review the work done against the intended business objectives and ask one question: did it enable the intended outcomes? If it did, all good. If it didn't, we review what went wrong systematically and blamelessly, so your organisation learns from it. Either way, you get a written recommendation plan you can action based on what the sprint surfaced.
- 5
EXIT
Handover, handshake, and outWe hand over all documentation and artifacts of the engagement, with sprints as checkpoints along the way. When we collectively feel your in-house team can handle the remaining work, we define an exit — and you're free to terminate at any checkpoint if you think we're not achieving ROI. You review the handover, we shake hands, and you move on to your next financial target.
Why we design our own exit
Most consulting models are incentivised to stay. Ours is incentivised to finish: align your business goals with your technology stack, level your team up along the way, and get out. That's not a slogan — it's the EXIT stage of the process above, with checkpoints where you can end the engagement. Read more in The Aijutsu Difference.
