When to run a readiness sprint

Run one when you're about to commit money or headcount to a change and want evidence before you do. The four situations we see most:

  • Preparing for compliance automation — you're heading toward ISO 27001 or SOC 2 and want the governance and evidence-collection foundations designed before buying tooling.
  • A messy codebase you can't estimate against — a diagnostic sprint maps ownership, change coupling, and risk hotspots so routine work stops being unpredictable.
  • Assessing your stack for cloud-readiness — what can migrate as-is, what needs re-architecture, and in what order, tied to actual business priorities.
  • Assessing workflows and data for AI-readiness — whether your processes and data are in a state where AI adoption produces outcomes rather than demos.

The report you get

The deliverable is a system map with prioritised, actionable findings. Every finding is structured the same way: the observation, the evidence behind it, the symptom your team feels, the business impact, a concrete remediation, and a candidate owner. It reads like an engineering document, not a sales document — because its job is to be acted on, by whoever you choose to act on it.

How a readiness sprint runs

  1. 1

    ALIGNMENT

    Problems and outcomes

We sit down with you and the relevant stakeholders to agree on the problems to be solved and the outcomes you want. The sprint is scoped against your stated business objective — not a generic checklist.

  2. 2

    DISCOVERY

    Business priorities, assets, and architecture

We come in and audit your current systems: architecture, code, cloud infrastructure, processes, and workflows. We look at documentation and compare what's written down with your intuitions about where the problems are.

  3. 3

    SYNTHESIS

    Hard information + heart information

Hard information comes from documentation and code reviews. Heart information comes from interviewing you — or, if you have a team, the roles inside it — to understand context that never makes it into a repo. We synthesise both into a system map.

  4. 4

    REPORT

    Prioritised, actionable findings

You get a report with prioritised findings and implementation recommendations tied to your intended outcome — whether that's adopting AI, re-architecting systems, migrating to the cloud, or getting compliance-ready. Each finding names the evidence, the business impact, a remediation, and a candidate owner.

  5. 5

    DECISION

    Your move — no obligations

We do a final discussion to prioritise initiatives. From there you can act on the report with your own team, take it to another vendor, or engage us for an Adoption Sprint. The report is yours either way.
